Enterprise Zones & Self Reliant Associations
Eagle Condor Humanitarian (ECH) believes the best way create change for good is to teach others how to help themselves. Enterprise Zones begin with Self Reliant Associations where ECH provides grassroots training teaching people how to set personal (family) goals, strengthen their communities and learn business strategies, accounting and marketing skills.
Upon completion of the self-reliant courses, and based on the approval of their business plan, qualified graduates receive small loans to start, or improve, their businesses.
Capable staff in Peru support loan recipients through regular consultations. On average, three new employment positions are created by each new business started. Loan funds are revolving and strive to be self-sustaining once started – $500 can sponsor a participant through the first level of training. Generous donations of $60k can set up an entire Enterprise Zone, which would sponsor on average 100 participants. Currently ECH has these programs in Chiclayo, Piura, Iquitos, and Nauta, Peru. Programs are also underway for Colombia, including new areas in Peru.
