Micro Enterprise Development & Loans
- Objective: Reinforce the business and help to develop or expand the business.
- Methodology: Training, consulting, mentors. Support for obtaining financial credit if needed.
- Established programs in Peru: Chiclayo, Trujillo and Piura
- Enterprise zones in progress: Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil.
Eagle Condor Humanitarian (ECH) believes the best way to create change for good is to teach others how to help themselves. Enterprise Zones are ares where ECH provides rigorous entrepreneurial training courses and qualifying participants are taught business strategies, accounting and marketing skills. Upon completion of the course, and based on the approval of their business plan, graduates are may be eligible to receive small loans to start their new business with the help of our capable staff in Peru who continues to support loan recipients through weekly consolations for at least 1 year. On average, three new employment positions are created by each new business started. Loan funds are revolving and self-sustaining once started.
Higher Education
With interns in place, helping the children under our care develop interpersonal skills and achieve academic success, there is now a demand for the opportunity to attend college and/or receive support for apprenticeships. The high cost of college entrance exams are a major hurdle to attend a university, but once accepted, almost all tuition fees are paid by the “state”. Child sponsorship monies pay for college entrance exams to all children who are attending school regularly. Sponsorship monies will also pay for placements in an apprenticeship. There are currently 2 students who have taken the college entrance exam, and both are attending a college in Trujillo.
