June Youth Expedition!
Juneheader

Youth Expeditions rock! Twenty students from across the country spent their summer vacation bridging cultures and making their time matter. Working together, they finished a greenhouse in the village of Matinga, planted and fixed gardens in Rayanniyoc, and painted the community center and the bathrooms in Huatta that were built during our expedition last summer.

On a fun note, the kids spontaneously broke into Zumba classes in the hotel lobby, had a Karaoke night and even attended a community dance.

Tourism was also part of the adventure visiting Quoricancha, the Temple in the center of Cusco, the market in Pisaq in the Sacred Valley and of course Machu Picchu to name a few.

Sponsorships – It Matters to Hundreds of Children
Eva
Currently ECH sponsors help over 350 children, with food and education, on a monthly basis. Interns provide children with opportunities to explore various fields then help hone children’s skills to pursue professional, entrepreneurial and/or labor type jobs depending on interests and skill sets.

Pictured here is Eva at El Bichito, the third child in a family of seven children living with a single mother. Eva is not a girl of many words, yet she is a very talented artist who loves to paint and draw with colored pencils. While other children will draw many pictures in a short period of time, Eva is patient and careful and will spend a lot of time on one beautiful work of art. To find out more about Eva, we invite you to visit our: chidren’s blog
If you would like to sponsor Eva, contact: sponsorship@eagle-condor.org or call for more information: 801-263-2000.  100% of your sponsorship goes to the children!

“When people donate their time, they are giving of their valuable heartbeats.”

Eagle Condor would like to send a big thanks to “SENATI”, a specialized technical college in Cajamarca, who donated their time and materials to install a water heater for El Bichito.  What a treat to have hot running water!
Big shout out to Keaton Wynn, of Orem, Utah, for his helpful eagle scout project. Keaton, with the help of his troop, cut the wood to paint and make individual chalkboards to be placed with the supplies gathered for 50 Back to School kits! The bags are sturdy and way cool!  Thanks Keaton!

Another thanks to Northern Star, in British Columbia, Canada, for hosting a June Walk-a-thon in Victoria and an upcoming one in the Cowichan Valley in August.  Their events sponsor 4 children a year!
